Help Arrives

Posted on Tue Jan 4th, 2022 @ 8:04pm by Lieutenant Commander Zan Luthar

Mission: Not All Changes Are Welcome.
Location: USS Agincourt's Location

Zan had received word from the Dreadnought moments after detecting the distress signal and already gathered 4 other fighters and himself to head to the area. It seems the Captain's idea to cast a net over the region had paid off in some regard, missed things in others. The scene that greeted them was chaos.

"Dreadnought this is Nighthawk 1, I plus 4 just arrived on scene. I have eyes on the Agincourt, shes adrift. Signs of heavy battle damage, hits all over, venting plasma from the nacelles. Also have eyes on a freighter, same condition, signs of damage."

Zan took a slow flyby of the Agincourt before he continued. "I'm detecting lifesigns, but I doubt she will get back under her own power."

Zan figured as much as he passed the stern of the much larger vessel and saw the carnage in front of him. "Massive damage to the impulse engines, they have power but its fluctuating. Shes going to need a tow back to the barn."

Flicking over to his fighter comms he ordered the other fighters to assume patrol patterns just in case who ever did this returned to finish the job. "No signs of who did it, ion trails lead to the nebula. Will await support and orders, out."

What ever did this had to be well armed and capable of taking on a Defiant class escort. Those things were not exactly lightly armed or armoured for her size but the Agincourt had taken a beating.

With communications to the Agincourt down from her battle damage Zan wanted to let them know somehow that support was here to help but could only hope what sensors they had already picked them up.

It was never a good sight to see a ship down on her knees and while Zan hoped she gave as good as she got he had no way to tell. He then remembered that the Barham was also deployed so signalled her the exact location of the Agincourt and requesting her presence unaware that the Captain already had.
